I’m a big polyphony buff, because I like the interplay of the various parts, each having as valuable a contribution as any other. It seems kind of democratic. So I am happy to post 31 two-part Fantasies by Omer Katzir, a nice example of modern polyphony.

One of the things I love about the lute is that it is, in my opinion, the best solo instrument for playing polyphonic pieces. The harpsichord, as opposed to the piano, has all those nice high overtones that make the parts stand out more clearly from each other, but the lute has the added advantage of allowing each note to be struck in an individual manner.
