19Apr22: Posted the first 25 pieces from Nicolas Vallet “Le Secret des Muses”, v. 1 (1615). These are mainly simple to moderate difficulty preludes and fantasias for 7,8,9, and 10-course lute. They share with the Milano ricercars the quality of being wonderful but not too difficult. One piece, “La mendiante”, is of particular interest in that it rivals Dowland in its chromaticism.
