22May25: I started work on Phalèse Theatrum Musicum longe amplissimum (1571). This is an expansion of the 1568 version of Theatrum Musicum.

The first part consists of 34 fantasias by MIlano, Paladin, Melchior Newsidler, and others. These are quite spectacular pieces, well worth playing.  Most are stolen from other sources without attribution, as seems to have been common at the time. In some cases, errors in the original sources were corrected by Phalèse or his partner, Jean Bellère, in other cases, errors were introduced.  But to be fair, more were corrected than introduced, and I hope a comparison of the sources has resulted in a relatively error-free result.  Players can make their own decisions about that.
