04Nov25: I just completed the first 50 pieces from Victor de Montbuisson MS.4°.Mus.108.1 Montbuisson lute book (1611), out of over 200 pieces.

Pieces consist on many dances, mostly correntes, with a few galliards and almains thrown in, a “fuga“, and an interesting fantasia or prelude by Lorenzino Tracetti, also present in the Urbino collection, #2-22. Several pieces are by Dowland. It is unclear how many of the unattributed pieces are by Montbuissant himself.

Only one or two pieces have bar lines, and I was avoiding working on this MS for that reason, but fortunately there are not too many rhythmic errors.
